Cakes are the health demons. At least that's what people say. And why not? With all the calories and fats it brings us, cakes are most unquestionably evil. Because they are rich, irresistible, and oh so tempting, they are frequently referred to as sinful and decadent. Cakes, even the most sinful ones and even if they are called the devil incarnate by some, actually have good effects on us.

Of course it depends what kind of cake we are talking about. Chocolate cakes, especially the dark cocoa variety, are good for us when consumed in moderation, but there are also health benefits from the fruity kinds, such as strawberry shortcakes and blueberry cheesecakes.

But even if you select any other kinds of cake, as long as you desire it, cakes are still good for you. You might ask if how is that possible. Let's talk about mental wellness. Denying yourself the rich and luscious chocolate overload dessert would just make you feel disappointed.

For all the negative things we heard about eating rich cakes, only a few has been mentioned about its benefits. Giving into the heavy delight every from time to time, especially in desserts like cakes you eat after every meal, can give you a sense of pleasure and happiness.

Diet can lead to depression, denying yourself of the food that you want can lead to depression. A no-brainer solution to combating depression is by doing things that make you feel good. If you want to eat your favorite dessert right now, go ahead. Your body will thank you for it as it will release positive and happy chemicals.

When you are in diet, you may consider cakes as the demons. But indulging in something sinfully good every now and then isn't all bad. In fact, it's even good for you. So go ahead and be tempted.
